Our December Artist for the Month!!!
Bib & Tucker Sew-Op, a non-profit with a home between Avondale and Woodlawn, will be exhibiting their beautiful textiles through the month of December. The Sew-Op's mission is to cultivate skills for those who sew or want to sew, ages 9-99. Since 2013, Bib & Tucker members have learned a variety of sewing and quilting techniques through projects for the community. The Sew-Op donated ten bed quilts to the Woodlawn YWCA shelter and started an annual community art project called The March Quilts, which sheds light on an issue of civil or human rights through the art of quilting.
Our members range in age and skill set, and each of us has a particular style. We make a variety of sewn items such as aprons, pillows, and coasters and are especially proud of our wall hangings. Members meet weekly at the Sew-Op to learn new skills, work on projects and visit with one another. As Bib & Tucker co-founder, Ms. Annie Bryant says, "We don't meet strangers": our doors are always open and visitors are welcome!
Come meet some of the women on December 6th and purchase some of their work for Christmas gifts. They have special significance and support
